Life at the cabin

Settling in
This meadow is yours to build on! Every block can be picked up and placed again: walls, a roof, a door that opens as you approach, a bed, lanterns and a vegetable garden.
Craft what you need
In survival mode, you gather everything: trees give wood, rocks give stone and creatures drop loot. The workbench, the campfire, the oven and the fairground stands each have their own recipes, and the bag shows anything you are missing in red.
4 wood make a workbench by hand.
3 wood and 2 stone make a campfire by hand.
2 mushrooms and 1 wood make a mushroom skewer beside a fire.
Chop down trees with an axe.
Forge stronger pickaxes to reach rare ore veins.
Keep a sword handy when night falls.
Press X to drop what you are holding, or Shift + X for the whole stack: a friend picks it up by walking over it.
Or switch to creative mode: unlimited blocks, and you can fly!

The vegetable garden, the orchard and the farm
Sow seeds in the soil: tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, strawberries and corn grow through four stages before they are ripe. Apple, orange, cherry and pear trees bear fruit again after every harvest. Fill the watering can with water and it moves everything growing around the watered square on by one stage.
Settled in their habitats, the farm animals give you eggs, milk, honey, wool, scutes and cheese.

1 egg, 1 Vachicorne milk and 1 ear of wheat make a crêpe beside a fire.

Sloped roofs and facades
Six tile slopes take their shape from their neighbours: a straight pitch, a hip corner or a valley. Placed back to back, two slopes form a ridge.
Eleven ornaments hang on walls, from a pediment to a café sign. The cornice turns its own corners, and you can walk out onto the balcony. Every one of them can be painted.
A stone statue takes the likeness of any of the thirteen characters, in one of four poses. Give it moss and it looks as if it has always stood there.
Befriend the creatures
Right-click to offer a wild creature its favourite food. Once it has eaten enough, it follows you; face it and press E to make it stay put, then again to have it follow. Build its habitat and it settles there. Each habitat holds two creatures.
A handful of berries tames a Galette.
An apple tames a Sporet.
Three ears of wheat tame a Cognecorne.
2 hay bales and 4 grass tufts make a pasture, the habitat for Cognecornes.
4 mushrooms and 2 ferns make a mushroom ring, the habitat for Sporets.

The habitats screen, opened with B, shows what each of the twenty-two creatures needs and marks the habitats you have already built with a green check.
Gear up for exploring
Craft twelve armour sets at the workbench using creature drops: Cognecorne leather, Galette scutes, Suintombre mist and Fracasse amber. Each set has three pieces and fits every character. Each of the six legendary sets has its own power.

Power from wind, water and lava
A wind turbine turns with the wind of the moment. A water wheel turns in moving water: a waterfall gives it its full 20 W, a river current 15. Power poles carry the current further, and the gauge on whatever you aim at shows what the network produces and what is being drawn from it. The water wheel guide compares each kind of water.
The geothermal generator gives 10 W for each side touching lava, up to 40 W.
A lever, a button or a pressure plate sends a signal along the control wire.
At the end of the wire, a lamp draws 5 W, a piston 8 W and a trapdoor 4 W. A sticky piston pulls back the block it pushed.

Choose how you play
Change character whenever you like, build in creative mode or gather resources in survival. Your friends can join a server on the same network or a hosted server they can reach from home. Everyone sees the same blocks; each player keeps their own bag. The guide to playing Cabane with friends explains how to open an invitation or add a server address.
Press Enter to chat, and /coucou makes your character wave. On a server, only the admin can change the game mode and turn on damage between players.
A gamepad works in the menus too. On phones and tablets, Cabane plays with your fingers and installs like an app.

Venture further
The world does not end at the clearing. High in the mountains and deep in the mines lives the Fracasse, a stone giant that wants four amethyst shards before it will follow you.
